CO2 Reduction
In Ukraine the building sector is responsible for about 40% of the primary energy consumption and the related CO2 emissions. With its high share of emissions, the building sector could play an important role in a national carbon reduction strategy since it has more potential to deliver quick and cost effective CO2 reduction than any other sector.
Through readily available technologies, building design, equipment, management systems and decentralized heat generation a significant increase in energy efficiency will be achieved and substantial CO2 reductions are possible.
In addition, construction, renovation and maintenance of buildings are significant economic activities which contribute to a sustainable low-carbon world and create green jobs.
